2009 has been a very exciting year for Morehouse Parish and northeast Louisiana despite the closing of International Paper in the fall 2008. Announced projects and infrastructure developments are anticipated to have a fast, significant impact on the parish and region.
Please read about the parish’s new industrial park on 4-lane U.S. Hwy. 165 in Bastrop, sewer repairs, Bastrop airport fueling system upgrades, and two major announcements by Louisiana Economic Development on the location of an auto assembly plant and the expansion of leading worldwide manufacturer, Gardner Denver, in Monroe, Louisiana.
