The Village of Bonita, founded December 29, 1901, has an agricultural heritage.   Located near the Arkansas state line, Bonita is an ideal location for businesses that require a rural location.  The community adjoins US Hwy 165 and the Union Pacific railroad.

Bonita is full of rich history in the families that settled there.  The Bonita Museum is the original office of Dr. Owens, one of Bonita's first residents, who began his practice there in 1925.  

Village of Bonita 2000 population estimate is about 335.  Community sewer and water service are available inside the Village and electrical service is provided by Entergy.  Gas Service is available through Atmos Energy.
