Stanley Gros, has found work
at the Morehouse Parish Relief Center after relocating to the area after
Hurrican Katrina.
Gros is among an estimated 400
people displaced by Hurricane Katrina who have established permanent
residences in Morehouse Parish. Gros works at the relief center in the
old Delchamp's building, which still serves a small number of people who have
relocated to the area.
Odd as it sounds, Gros said
the storm "was a blessing."
"Really, it was.
When we came up here, I had no idea what to expect. But the people of
this community--all the churches and other groups--have just been amazing in
helping us feel at home," Gros said. "I never realized haw
bad it was down there until I got up here."
