BECOME A MEMBER

The purpose of this organization is to provide a central clearinghouse for economic development initiatives. Business members can contact this agency for information about incentives, credits and assistance with business expansion projects.  Services are also provided to non-members when those objectives promise to provide economic stimulus to the community.  Promotion of the area to outside development to increase employment is a major concern to the community.  Business leaders can support these efforts by actively supporting this local economic development effort.

The Board of Directors meeting is at 8:00 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.  The meetings are held at the City Hall Courtroom, East Jefferson, Bastrop, Louisiana. All members and citizens are welcome to attend board meetings.  Please call our office to verify time and date if you are planning to attend, because meetings are occasionally rescheduled because of conflicts.  Topics of particular concern can be added to the agenda when requested. 

Directors are appointed from various sectors of the business community to provide a diverse representation of objectives. In October, the Annual Membership Breakfast provides an opportunity to review goals and present accomplishments.

During the March 2006 Board of Directors meeting and special membership designation was approved.  A new Gold Membership was approved for participants who would like to dedicate $1,000 dollars for incentives to attract new or expand existing business.  This would be used for creative financing, land acquisition or building projects that would provide a substantial number of new jobs for the community.
